AI Director Lab

Students learn to direct AI with judgment and intention, rather than just using pre-made tools, and complete a real project they built themselves.

🔥 Middle/High School 🕒 1-week Day Camp In-person Beginner-friendly 💰 $800–$1,200 total

About this camp

AI Director Lab offers in-person, small-group AI courses for Bay Area students aged 8 to 18, focusing on teaching students to direct AI rather than simply use it. The camps emphasize judgment, critical thinking, and creativity in an AI-powered world. Students engage in hands-on projects where they plan before prompting AI, evaluate its outputs, and refine results to create something original. The curriculum is designed to help students develop clear communication with AI, systems thinking for problem-solving, and critical judgment to question and improve AI outputs. Programs include Storybook, where students write and illustrate original stories with AI; Vibe Coding, where they build simple apps and websites; and Game Design, where they conceptualize, build, and iterate on playable games with AI assistance. The goal is for students to finish with a tangible project they built themselves and can confidently explain.
