ROAR Academy is an intensive two-week (10-day) in-person summer program at UC Berkeley for high school students entering grades 10-12. Participants work with UC Berkeley faculty, researchers, and scientists to learn Python programming, autonomous driving algorithms, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs). The program emphasizes hands-on learning, culminating in ROAR simulation competitions where students apply their acquired knowledge to race autonomous driving agents in a software simulation environment. Students gain practical skills in AI and robotics, develop an engineering portfolio, and receive a certificate of completion. The academy aims to prepare talented and motivated high school students for academic and professional careers in STEM, particularly in AI, Robotics, and Data Science.
