About this camp

The STEM4Kids Junior Lego Robotics Camp uses the LEGO Education Spike Essential platform to teach children aged 5½–9 how to build and program their first robots. The camp focuses on hands-on tasks, real-world projects, and relevant technology to engage students in science, engineering, technology, and coding. Through project-based activities, students develop computational thinking skills, including creating and modifying sequences, testing, debugging, and using loops. They also explore the engineering design process, learning to define problems, brainstorm solutions, and test and refine prototypes. The curriculum investigates scientific concepts such as energy, energy transfer, and collision. By the end of the week, campers will have built and programmed several working robots and participated in robot battles and competitions.
