UCSF AI4ALL is a 10-week unpaid summer internship designed to introduce motivated high school students to real-world biomedical and health research using data and computation. Participants will engage in a small-group research project applying AI to biomedicine, guided by UCSF faculty, researchers, and graduate students. The program aims to provide early exposure to non–wet lab biomedical research and data-driven discovery, culminating in a group presentation of their work at a final symposium. Students will gain skills in statistical inference, computational methods, data analysis, and Python coding, while also exploring career interests at the intersection of computer science and biomedicine through mentoring and career development sessions.
A typical day involves lectures on AI concepts and biomedical applications, hands-on data analysis, and dedicated time for small-group research projects, often with guest speakers and personal growth sessions.
This program is ideal for SFUSD juniors (Class of 2027) with a strong interest in AI, biology, or medicine, who have taken or are currently taking AP Statistics and/or AP Computer Science.
