The Wharton Global Youth AI Leadership program is an immersive, nine-day experience held at the Wharton San Francisco campus, designed for high school students interested in artificial intelligence and its impact on business and society. Students learn from Wharton faculty and industry experts through hands-on projects, lectures, and site visits to leading AI companies in the Bay Area. The curriculum covers foundational AI concepts, ethical considerations, real-world applications in digital business, and practical workshops using AI and GenAI platforms like ChatGPT. The program culminates in a final project where students apply AI tools to solve real-world business challenges, gaining valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and presentation.
Participants will be able to identify and explain core AI concepts such as machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI, and describe their business applications. They will evaluate AI's impact across industries, use beginner-level AI tools to prototype solutions, and collaborate in teams to design and present AI-powered solutions to real-world problems. The program also includes extracurricular and social activities in the evenings and on weekends, offering opportunities to explore San Francisco's culture and network with global peers.
A typical day includes a shuttle to campus, morning lectures on AI topics, a mid-morning break, small-group activities or recitations, lunch and student team meetings, an afternoon lecture or guest speaker, and a simulation, small group activity, or company visit, followed by a shuttle back to dorms.
