About this camp

Applied Computing Foundation Summer Camps empower youth to become confident innovators through hands-on learning in AI, robotics, and entrepreneurship. Campers engage in daily activities such as designing and building intelligent prototypes using hardware, AI algorithms, and robotic systems. They learn foundational concepts in AI, physical computing, and robotics, fostering a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit. Students will master prompt engineering, metacognition, and ethical AI use, and explore physical computing tools like IoT sensors, drones, and 3D printing. The program also embeds LEAN startup principles, GRIT mindset training, and pitch development to transform ideas into viable ventures. Campers collaborate on team challenges and present their projects on a demo day, building lasting professional relationships and solving real-world problems.

What a typical day looks like

A typical day includes a morning warm-up with a STEM icebreaker and mission briefing, followed by building and engineering LEGO marine robots and mechanical designs. After a break, campers engage in coding and sensor activities for navigation, detection, and cleanup missions. Full-day campers have lunch, then participate in an AI Media Lab for scriptwriting, visuals, and voiceovers for YouTube-style content, concluding with a demo and reflection session where students present their progress and discoveries.
