About this camp

The Hiller Aviation Museum's Air & Space Summer Camp offers an immersive, hands-on aerospace adventure where campers investigate rocketry, build and launch model rockets, and explore space destinations. Participants will conduct experiments related to Newton's Third Law of motion, construct model rockets capable of reaching significant speeds and altitudes, and take a field trip to launch their creations. The curriculum also includes building a model of our solar system, observing the sun, using a refractor telescope, identifying constellations in a Starlab planetarium, commanding space shuttle training aircraft in flight simulators, and examining real meteorites. Campers will gain an understanding of aviation principles, rocket propulsion, space travel, and aircraft design through engineering challenges, creative projects, and interactive experiments.
